THE BASIC BEHIND RADIO CONTROLLING

Hi friends today I will tell you the basics behind radio controlling.A radio controller device works on radio wave which is an electromagnetic wave.Instructions in the form of electromagnetic waves are sent through air by using a radio transmitter  to radio receiver which interprets the instruction and do the correct operation. The radio controlling does not involved any wired connection between the instructor device to the controlling device,in fact it involves wireless controlling of the device which is to be controlled. The radio waves are used in the transmission since these are high frequency waves and they travels with the speed of light and are not affected by any obstacle in their path and they have high penetration power therefore the can easily pass through a wall.
The following are the two main components of a radio controlling system -
::Transmitter -- A transmitter is an electronic device which sends out radio waves containing the useful instruction for the receiver. The transmitter consists of a carrier wave oscillator and  a local oscillator. The carrier waves are high frequency radio waves produced by using a crystal oscillator. The local oscillator produces low adjustable frequency signals. The different switch used for controlling on the transmitter corresponds to different frequency of the local oscillator.Hence the local oscillator output signal works as the intelligence signal  which can be used as instruction for running the motor of a car (SAY) .
The carrier signal is amplitude modulated with respect to the intelligence signal. The signal is then amplified and are sent by using an antenna.

::Receiver -- A receiver is an electronic device which receives the electromagnetic waves send through a compatible transmitter and interprets the information/instruction in the signal and do the correct operation. The radio receiver consists of  a receiving antenna and  then a voltage amplifier ,power amplifier ,demodulator circuit, limiter circuit ,a latch circuit. The received signal is first amplified using a voltage amp.(amplifier) since the order of voltage of the signal received is from 1uv to 1mv. Now the signal is then amlified using a power amp. since the most of the power is lost during its journey through air (due to noise). Since the carrier wave does not contain any type of information hence it is removed and the original information signal is extracted by demodulating the received signal.
limiter circuits ensures that only a particular pre defined frequency enters the next stage of the receiver.Latch interprets the signal and do the correct operation.
e.g., if there are two motors in a car then there will be four switch for controlling are installed in the transmitter which produces a train of pulses of different frequency corresponding to the motion of first motor forward an backward and second motor backward and forward. This particular frequencies are the information signal which are sent through transmitter ,the receiver receives the signal and latch interprets the frequency of information signal and do the correct operation.
suppose 3khz is pre defined frequency for forward motion of motor 1  of the car. Then the forward switch on the transmitter produces a frequency of 3khz on local oscillator which amplitude modulates the 25 Mhz carrier wave and then it is transmitted. Now the receiver receives the signal and demodulate the received signal to obtained the information signal. Now latch interprets 3khz signal and switch on the motor in forward direction.
